Gramarye Guestouse falls under banner of the Kenilworth Respite Centre, a a community-based (CBO), non-profit organisation (NPO) that provides temporary shelter for up to 6 months for abused woman and children. They do not take in boys older than 10 years of age.
Those resident at KRC are provided with 3 meals a day from the soup kitchen and are given counselling.
KRC runs HIV and TB awareness workshops and teaches cooking, baking and sewing to the ladies,.
The centre assists and then refers people, with applications for birth certificates, identity documents and social grants to the relevant government departments.
KRC is open from 08:00 to 17:00, Monday to Friday. Their services are free of charge.
Proceeds from Gramarye Guesthouse go towards the Respite Centre.
